More movie trivia:

Actor Jesse Eisenberg's scenes as Jon Rossman in "Chris Kelly: The Movie" were cut from the film at the last minute due to a disagreement with director Darren Aronofsky.

Philip Seymour Hoffman's celebrated cameo as Pat Kelly was only made possible when Hoffman briefly withdrew from the Screen Actor's Guild to accept a lower wage scale for the film, citing the "incredible pathos" of the character.

Director Darren Aronofsky claimed much of the script for "Chris Kelly: The Movie" was influenced by his first commercial breakthrough "Pi."

Jeff Daniels and Holly Hunter were originally cast as Mr. & Mrs. Tom Kelly, respectively, but withdrew from the film due to scheduling conflicts. The husband and wife roles were subsequently combined into a single transgendered character that counsels Chris Kelly to "follow his heart" during his relocation to New York City. The Kelly family cat was also changed to a lemur to maintain the artistic integrity of this scene. Interestingly enough, the lemur was voiced by Tom Kelly.
