INTRODUCING "MOVIE NOTES POWERED BY FMB"

The Mel Wire is thrilled to introduce "Movie Notes Powered By FMB" - a new section featuring Netflix reviews by the one, the only:

Mr. Glenn Carlen

First up, A West Side Story:
More like West Side Bore-Me...Hi-Oh! Best Picture? Must have been a slow year- just like the movie. Aside from the dancing, singing, lame acting and length...it was great!
2 out of 5 stars

Not a single (non-sarcastic) positive comment, and yet "A West Side Story" still earns 2 out of 5 stars? Did someone replace Shep with Roger Ebert?

Joe...you must be new to Netflix. See 1 star is "Hated It", 2 stars "Didn't Like It", 3 stars "Liked It", 4 stars "Really Liked It", 5 stars "Loved It"

Judging from your review, Shep, I thought you would have gone with one star. I'm sure my personal comfort with your rating system will increase as future "Movie Notes" are published. Looking forward to hearing your take on "In Bruges."

You see, Joe, I didn't hate it...just didn't like it. It's try at the hackneyed story of Romeo and Juliet is to be applauded and it seems musicals were "in" back then- so you can't hold that against them. Basically, it's no 'Newsies'....
